In today's electronic warfare, the quality of antenna and feeder equipment directly impacts unit survivability and mission success. Collinear Antenna 890-960 MHz with 6 dBi gain is a high-precision instrument designed to amplify signals in the most crowded frequency spectrum. It is ideal for integration into mobile and stationary electronic warfare systems, as well as for deploying 900 MHz communications nodes.
Why is the 890-960 MHz band critical?
The 900 MHz (890-960 MHz) band is the base band for most tactical systems. It is here that the main control channels for FPV drones, telemetry systems, and digital data transmission protocols (including ELRS and Crossfire on the corresponding frequencies) operate. Using a professional collinear antenna allows you to:
- Efficiently suppress threats: Create a dense interference for enemy kamikaze drones.
- Increase the communication range: Use it as part of a repeater for stable contact between groups.
- Provide all-round protection: The horizontal 360° radiation pattern eliminates the appearance of "dead zones" around the object.
Technical and tactical characteristics (TTX)
The antenna parameters are optimized to ensure low SWR and maximum transmitter throughput.
| Parameter | Characteristic value |
|---|---|
| Operating frequency range | 890 – 960 MHz |
| Gain | 5 ±1 dBi |
| SWR | ≤ 2,0 |
| Polarization | Vertical |
| Horizontal Beamwidth | 360º (Omnidirectional) |
| Vertical Beamwidth | 17 ± 3º (concentration along the horizon) |
| Input impedance | 50 Ohm |
| Maximum power | 70 W (peak) |
| Connector type | N-Male (Plug) |
Design advantages and combat application
This model is designed for specialists who value reliability and stability of radiation characteristics in difficult field conditions.
1. Optimized Radiation Pattern
Thanks to its narrow vertical beamwidth (17°), the antenna concentrates its power parallel to the ground rather than dissipating it "into the sky." This significantly increases the effective suppression range of UAVs flying at low altitudes.
2. High Endurance
The ability to withstand loads of up to 70 W allows this antenna to be used with the most powerful digital jammers (VCO) without risking equipment failure due to overheating.
3. Professional N-Male Connector Standard
Using the N-type connector ensures a reliable, sealed connection that is resistant to vibration and extreme weather conditions, which is critical when installing on military pickup trucks and armored vehicles.
Front-line applications:
- Trench electronic warfare systems: Reliable all-round protection of dugouts and strongpoints.
- Vehicle systems: Installation on the roof of a car to create a protective dome while driving.
- Tactical repeaters: Ensuring stable communication at the tactical level at 900 MHz frequencies.
Expert advice: When mounting the antenna on a vehicle, make sure that there is no metal obstructions that can distort the radiation pattern. For best results, use high-quality, low-attenuation cables.
Conclusion:Maximize the effectiveness of your protection
The 890-960 MHz (6 dBi) collinear antenna is an investment in security and superiority in the radio airwaves. The combination of high gain, stable SWR and reliable design makes it a must-have component of modern electronic warfare systems.
Tactical FAQ: Six questions about the 900 MHz collinear antenna
Why is the 890-960 MHz range considered a "basic shield"?
This is the most crowded sector. Not only standard ELRS and TBS Crossfire work here, but also custom firmware. With such an antenna, you cover the entire "classic" FPV threat spectrum with a single module.
What does 5 dBi provide for the protective dome shape?
5 dBi forms an ideal "fat donut" pattern. It compresses the signal vertically for range along the horizon, but does not leave "holes" directly overhead, protecting from diving drones.
What is the advantage of a collinear design over a conventional whip?
A collinear antenna is a stack of emitters. It works as a directional reflector: interference is not wasted, but hits the target more accurately, which increases the range without unnecessary energy consumption.
Impact on Starlink and the ASUS TUF gaming laptop?
Electronic warfare in this range does not interfere with Starlink and Wi-Fi. Your laptop and satellite Internet will work stably. However, GSM-900 mobile communication will disappear near the antenna - this is the price for an invisible shield.
Correct installation on the roof of a car?
The best place is the center of the metal roof. It serves as a reflector (ground plane). Avoid "radio shadows" from trunks or spare tires, so as not to leave loopholes for drones on certain sides.
The main danger during operation?
Frequency mismatch (high SWR). If you connect a 900 MHz antenna to a module of a different frequency range, energy will return to the device, and the module will burn out instantly from overheating. Always check the markings.
The combination of high gain, stable SWR and reliable design makes it a must-have component of modern electronic warfare systems.
